No Valentine this year?

Bummer. You can either wallow in self-pity, slumped on your couch with a pint of Ben & Jerry’s (or a fifth of vodka; pick your poison) and watch crappy romantic comedies while crying like a little girl…

OR!

You could choose from two different, yet equally awesome, literary events taking place in San Francisco on Saturday night.

Craig Clevenger and several other authors from San Francisco Noir will be reading selections from their works, and the works of noir masters of the past, in celebration of the release of San Francisco Noir 2: The Classics. Peter Maravelis, editor of San Francisco Noir, is hosting this noir-soiree on Saturday night, February 14th, at The Ha Ra. The action begins at 8:00p.m.

Or maybe you do have a date, but all the restaurants are completely booked because you waited until last minute to plan? Shame on you! Make it up to your date, and maybe even make out with your date 😉 at The Make-out Room! Shanthi Sekaran, author of The Prayer Room (read an excerpt here!), will be participating in the monthly awesomeness that is Writers With Drinks, also taking place this Saturday night. Doors open at 7:00p.m. and the fun starts at 7:30p.m.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
